WORLAND, Wyo. (AP) — A second resident of a Wyoming nursing home has died of the coronavirus.
The older man had been hospitalized and was a resident of a Washakie County long-term care facility where testing identified 12 cases among residents and nine among staff, the Wyoming Department of Health said Tuesday.
The death was Wyoming’s 13th from the COVID-19 illness. Wyoming as of Tuesday had 850 confirmed and probable cases, of which 607 people had recovered.
For most people, the coronavirus causes mild or moderate symptoms, such as fever and cough that clear up in two to three weeks. For some, especially older adults and people with existing health problems, it can cause more severe illness, including pneumonia, and death.
